White Flare is one half of the eleventh Japanese Scarlet & Violet expansion, released alongside Black Bolt in June 2025 and themed around the Unova region's Generation V Pokemon. The set centers on Reshiram and Fire and Psychic type Pokemon, with every Pokemon in the expansion receiving an Art Rare or higher secret variant. Its signature chase card is Reshiram ex in the new Black White Rare (BWR) style, a high-contrast monochrome treatment exclusive to this pair of sets.
